With their reliable, high-quality optical system and rugged construction, Swarovski's Slim Light Compact (SLC) 30 binoculars are among the world's most popular high-end optics. The SLC 8x30 model--which boasts an 8x magnification and a 30mm objective lens--offers excellent image quality and maximum operating comfort, making it perfect for users who demand viewing precision throughout the day and well into dusk. Each binocular in the SLC series sports either a high-quality Swarobright coating, which produces maximum color fidelity across the entire light spectrum, or Swarotop and Swarodur coatings, which are built to create bright, high-contrast images. As a result, you can view crisp images of your favorite finches and hawks even in low-light conditions. The binoculars also feature a nonstick Swaroclean coating on the outer surface of each lens. The coating--which helps extend the lifespan of your lens--is particularly effective when you need to remove dried-on mineral residues (such as water marks from condensation), insect repellents, and tree resin.
To promote secure and comfortable handling while you view birds or wildlife, the SLC 30 includes thumb rests on the underside and depressions on the topside of the easy-to-grip rubber armoring. And users will love the SLC 30's lightweight, compact body, which is ideal for nature observation, sporting events, or arts performances. Extremely popular as entry-level binoculars, the SLC 30--which sports a sturdy metal housing that's submersible in up to 13 feet of water--is nitrogen-purged to prevent internal fogging. All Swarovski binoculars carry a lifetime warranty.

About Swarovski Optik
Although founded in 1949, Swarovski Optik's roots actually trace all the way back to 1895, when Austrian Daniel Swarovski--who invented the world's first electric grinding machine for jewelry stones--established the family-owned Swarovski Crystal in the province of Tyrol. Since then, the name Swarovski has become synonymous worldwide with the clearest crystal, precision grinding, and a brilliant spirit of innovation, as the original enterprise continued branching out into additional lines of business.
Swarovski Optik owes its rise to Wilhelm Swarovski, son of the original founder and an avid hobby astronomer, who decided to build his own improved binocular in 1935 at a mere 17 years of age. With access to the specialized glass production and finishing technologies already used to manufacture jewelry stones in his father's factory, Wilhelm managed to develop a novel prism fabrication and grinding process that he applied in constructing his first 6x30 binocular. Wilhelm went on to found Swarovski Optik KG in Absam, Tyrol, in 1949, thus laying the foundation for a sports optics company with a global reputation. His company's first serial product, the Habicht 7x42, is still an industry standard in the field of hunting optics and continues to be produced in the best tradition of its founder.
